about

'Woogie Boogie' originally released in 2013 is the third album from Cox. 9 very engaging, soulful songs - a live acoustic feel with a modern, experimental approach to the production.

Mainly based around the core of John's voice and acoustic guitar with Dave Hughes on cajon (an ethnic percussive box instrument!). With backing vocals from Emma Fee on 'Apollo' & 'Birds in the Sewer', and Rebecca Robyns on 'Heavy Heart'. Pete Cox provides electric guitars on 'Wasted' and 'Sentences', Adam Fee electric guitar on 'Where do you stand now?', and Dave Whatt lead acoustic guitar on 'Heavy Heart'.

Recorded in his own 'Cupboard' studio in Hull, UK during December 2012 & January 2013. 'Apollo', 'Got Me Wrong', 'Birds In The Sewer' and 'Hooked On You' have all been featured heavily on Alan Raw's BBC Introducing Humberside show, and 'Hooked On You' made the end of the year best of playlist of 2013!
